Children’s Therapy
Children make excellent subjects and respond well to hypnotherapy.
Clinical hypnosis can be used to treat various habit disorders that develop in order to discharge underlying tension. Hypnotherapeutic treatments aim to stop the habit and teach more effective ways of releasing tension and anxiety.
Common problems experienced by children include:
Bed wetting (nocturnal enuresis)
Hypnosis has proved to be very effective for treating this problem.
Fear – medical matters; taking exams; coping with bullying.
Medical personnel now agree that hypnosis can make a valuable contribution to the management of acute and chronic pain for children. Hypno-anaesthesia and methods of anxiety reduction are offered to children to allay fears of doctors and medical procedures, i.e., treatment that involves repeat injections.
Lack of motivation for studying; peer pressure.
I have lectured in London giving advice to teachers on how to create a more relaxed classroom environment. Pupils with learning difficulties experience various forms of stress; hypnotherapy allows a pupil to relax and feel more confident about their capabilities.
I combine hypnotherapy with techniques to aid the process of attaining and remembering information; this allows children to feel more confident in the company of their peers thus increasing their self-esteem.
Bullying is still prevalent in schools, CBT combined with hypnosis therapy allows a child to conquer their fear and feel mentally able to stand up to the aggressor. Once a fear has been overcome the child faces their future with self-belief and an inner confidence.
